World Star Hip Hop Site Shut Down, Just For Kicks?

January 24, 2011 World Star Hip Hop's website went offline. 50 Cent accepted responsibility for this on Twitter, and rumors began to circulate. In an interview with Angie Martinez (Hot 97, NYC) he admits he was not directly responsible for the site's shut down. 50 goes on to explain that his tweets were simply entertainment for fans, "I didn't shut them down. If I rob a bank I wouldn't tell you I did... [but] maybe I did. It's up to the public to decide" says 50 Cent. The rapper has been involved with an ongoing conflict with World Star Hip Hop, attacking the owners for the use of his image and negativity.

The saga continues when CEO of World Star Hip Hop, "Q" is the name, calls into the show to explain to Marinez that these claims were false, stating the issue had nothing to do with 50 Cent, hackers, or homeland security.  Q goes on to explain that the site was nearly having technical difficulties, as they have  before in previous years . The've experienced issues with hacking in the past (most recently last year) and bandwidth. Q never denies his beef with 50 Cent...he gives him a quick shout out " good promo". Hmmm...perhaps a promotional opportunity for 50's website boobootv.com... a competitor  for worldstarhiphop.com???
With a personal beef between the Q and 50, a lawsuit, and two very different takes on the situation...who knows what to believe....
